Meditation: Mind Like Sky
with Jack Kornfield • Music by East Forest
Experience the vast and peaceful spaciousness within you with Meditation.
As human beings, we are constantly fighting to escape—from fear, pain, or circumstances we can’t control. But instead of actually escaping, we create even more internal anguish. Because what we resist persists.
Mind Like Sky is a 10-day meditation series with Jack Kornfield, with music by East Forest, to help end the inner war and find ease and flow in life.
Learn effective practices to improve emotional resilience, increase gratitude and joy, and bring peace into your heart. Stop clinging and suffering. Instead let your mind be like the sky. Accepting of all that passes through it, while holding on to none of it. Open, clear, and present with loving awareness for all things.
Meet Your Teacher
Jack Kornfield trained as a Buddhist monk in the monasteries of Thailand, India, and Burma. He has taught meditation internationally since 1974. He is one of the key teachers to introduce Buddhist mindfulness practice to the West.
After graduating from Dartmouth College in Asian Studies in 1967 he joined the Peace Corps and worked on tropical medicine teams in the Mekong River valley. There he met and studied as a monk under the Buddhist master Ven. Ajahn Chah, as well as the Ven. Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma. Returning to the United States, Jack co-founded the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, with fellow meditation teachers Sharon Salzberg and Joseph Goldstein, and the Spirit Rock Center in Woodacre, California.
“The human heart has the extraordinary capacity to transform the sorrows of life into a great stream of compassion. Compassion proclaims the power of the tender and merciful heart in face of the sufferings of the world.”
